Everything you need to know about the apartment
- The completely renovated apartment is located on the first floor of the house called Irazune.
- This building is completed by a second floor, the attic and the gabled roof.
- The stone building is located in the center of town, between the Health Center/Cultural Center and a small grocery store located next door.
- The house has a long history. In 1686, it was mentioned in the town census under the name of “Barberoarena”. In 1878 it was acquired by Jose Ignacio De Irazu, who installed a carpentry workshop on the ground floor of the building. The workshop has been in operation until a few years ago.
Permits and conditions of use of the apartment
- The apartment complies with all the obligations and requirements demanded by the Authorities to be able to carry out the activity of tourist accommodation.. It is registered as a tourist dwelling with the code ESS00083.
- All the documentation related to the exercise of this activity is in the small trunk of the room, including the complaints book, at the disposal of the guests.
- You can access the apartment from 16:00h. The limit for the check-out is 12:00h.
- Users of the apartment are obliged to comply with all standards set by the authorities and in particular with completing the registration form on arrival at the apartment and put it in the mailbox (Irazu) of the portal.
- Deposit the garbage in the corresponding bins in a selected way.
- Smoking is not allowed in the apartment.
- Guests are urged to make responsible use of the facilities and to be careful with objects and furniture in the house.
- A respectful behavior is requested towards the rest of the neighbors of the house.
Security & Health
- The apartment has formalized the Self-Protection Plan. The content of the Plan is contained in a document that is available for / as guests in the apartment. It was registered in the General Register of Self-Protection Plans of the Basque Country, with registration number 6753, on November 30, 2017.
- There is a smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the double room. Another smoke detector is installed in the living room.
- The kitchen has a CO2 fire extinguisher and a fireproof blanket.
- At the entrance to the apartment there is an emergency kit available to the guests.
- Strict cleaning and disinfection protocol. Due to the exceptional sanitary situation, disinfection products have been placed at the entrance: hydroalcoholic gel, spray for footwear, wipes for mobile phones / toys, textile disinfectant / air freshener, … Disinfectants (Sanytol) are approved by the Ministry of Health.
Internet
- 600Mb fiber optic speed.
- Direct cable connection available on the computer table in the living room and on the work table in the bedroom with a double bed.
- In front of the entrance door, on the right side of the kitchen door, there is the Router (built-in cupboard at the bottom of the wall) and an ON / OFF switch (top) in case you want to turn off the wireless signal. Without a WiFi signal, the wall switch glows red.
- The Router emits the WiFi signal in two bands: 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
- The 2.4GHz band network is identified in the apartment as “irazune2.4” and the 5GHz band network is identified as “irazune5.0”
Theoretically, the signal in the 2.4 GHz band has a greater range but is slower and the signal in 5GHz goes faster but has less range. The 5GHz network (“irazune5.0”) may not be picked up by some devices.
The PASSWORD for WiFi access in both cases is nagusia10
Electricity
- The electricity supply is contracted by a renewable energy cooperative called GoiEner.
- The general electrical panel of the apartment is next to the entrance door. Its outer cover is lined with a relief map of Gipuzkoa.
- The power outlets arranged in the lower part of the walls have a protective cover.
Hot water. Heating
- It operated by a condensing boiler propane. The gas, with a centralized deposit in the town, is distributed to the houses through a pipeline network.
- The boiler, always running, is located in a closet in the small outdoor patio.
- The heater thermostat is located on the left side of the kitchen door. To turn the heater simply turn the wheel of the thermostat to the desired temperature.
Waste management

The town of Asteasu has established the selective collection of waste: organic, glass, paper, plastic and non-recyclable (“errefuxa”). Also the bread and the ashes of the fire are collected separately.

The various containers and the compost facility to deposit organic waste, bread, … are in the parking lot located a few meters away, at the back of the house. The non-recyclable waste container, “errefuxa” is opened by an electronic card that you’ll find in the drawer of the table in the living room.

Out of five, four colored bins have been placed in the outdoor patio to deposit waste: Green (glass), blue (paper), yellow (plastic, metal), and red (not recyclable). Due to the inconvenience inherent in the presence of cats in the surroundings, it is recommended to keep the brown bin of organic waste inside the kitchen.
Kitchen
- Small CO2 fire extinguisher and fire blanket at the top left of the entrance.
- Appliances: refrigerator, induction hob, extractor fan, conventional oven, oven microwave, dishwasher, washer-dryer, blender, mixer, toaster, …
- You will also find a modern steam iron with great efficiency in the elimination of pathogens in textiles. For this purpose, use in the “healthy” position.
- Inside the cabinets you will find the basic ingredients for cooking: oil, vinegar, salt, sugar, … As far as possible they are organic and / or local products.
- In the bottom two cabinets, also it stored material parts for the kitchen and bathroom. Detergents, cleaning products, disinfectants, kitchen towels / rolls, toilet paper…
- A folder containing the instructions for all appliances is in the cupboard above the refrigerator.
- From the kitchen there is access to a small outdoor patio where the boiler and the clothes stall are located.
Bathroom
- Gel, shampoo and organic soaps.
- Hair dryer attached to the wall.
Bedrooms
- The head of the double bed is an old chestnut wood door that belonged to the house. The old cherry wood wardrobe, two of the tables, the different wooden chairs and the bedside table, are artisan furniture made by three generations of carpenters who have occupied the house for the last 150 years.
- The small trunk in front of the sofa is actually a carpenter’s box, used in its time to transport the tools of the trade.
- The small wooden boxes in the rooms and a large one with a handle on the shelf in the living room, are old capacity measures. They were used to quantify the amounts of grain in transactions.
- The light fixtures installed at the head of the double bed have three different light intensities and are also used to charge the mobile phone wirelessly or via USB connection. In the light fixtures installed at the head of the other two beds, it is possible to charge the mobile phone via USB connection.
